STUDIO 3D offers professional quality scanning, mounting and other stereo film related services.
MOUNTING
Stereo slides are usually in mounts referred to as "Realist Format". The American Stereo Realist started the stereo camera craze in the late 1940's and originated the 4 x 1 5/8" stereo mount (image pairs 21mm wide = "5-P" or 5 perforations wide). Germany and France made stereo cameras with a wider (28mm = "7-P" or 7 perforations wide) image pair. Original slides should be PRECISION MOUNTED for optimum viewing and projection. This is a custom service which accurately aligns stereo slides in the "window" (RBT Plastic mounts only). CARDBOARD MOUNTING is also available. While not as accurate as plastic mounts, careful attention is paid to each image for proper "window". Film will be inspected for problems such as poor exposures, bad focus or end of roll cutoff. Unless otherwise instructed, we will only mount decent quality pairs, and return unmounted film chips along with mounted slides.

VIEW-MASTER MOUNTING
We are now offering mounting for stereo pairs taken with VIEW-MASTER Personal Stereo Camera. Slides will be mounted in the order received on the roll (seven pair per reel). We accept PROCESSED, UNCUT film. Any images not good enough for mounting should be X'd out with a marker. If there are empty slots on the last reel, the blanks will be filled with black film (but charged full price for reel, so try to insure you've got a multiple of seven images to mount).

SCANNING
Note: Kodachrome is generally regarded as the best color film ever made, with unparalled color longevity.
Unfortunately, DIGITAL ICE technology (used to automatically clean dirt and scratches) does not work well with flatbed scanners on Kodachrome. However, our Konica-Minolta DimageScan Elite 5400 II usually works quite well so it's highly recommended.
NOTE: Scanned pairs can be setup for 3DTV viewing! We will provide multiple options at no extra charge.
STEREO SLIDE SCANS
Stereo slides can be scanned 2D (mono) or 3D... Includes air cleaning, some retouch and color correction. Extra cleaning will incur additional charge. 3D stereo pairs will be aligned and cropped.

DVD/BLU-RAY
DVD or Blu-Ray slide show including title and music can be made from slide scans.
You can provide music or we'll find something appropriate.
Images will often be respectfully cropped to fill aspect ratio.
Pan/Scan similar to "Ken Burns" style of video.
